Last night, I received my copy of Guitar Hero, a new PS2 music game from Harmonix and RedOctane. It comes with a controller shaped like a smallish guitar, with buttons on the fretboard, a "strum" bar, and a whammy bar. You strum the guitar and press the right fret buttons at the right time, and the guitar part of whatever song you're doing will play. Mess up, and you hear some ineffectual 'boing' noises. It's a whole bunch of dorky fun, guaranteed to get the girlfriend's eyes a-rollin' (though she secretly wants to play, I know it).

I made sure to get the two-controller version, so we can stage our own version of this...
